big dreams, small pocket book
Finished degree and moved to Paris alone at age 23 to pursue lifelong dream of becoming fluent in French. Cut contract short & returned to the U.S. because I learned payment didn't cover cost of living. Landed back in U.S. just in time for 2008 recession.
Did odd jobs but nothing stuck. Stayed home & watched Food Network when I received phone call from a neighbor who happened to run a French speaking start-up out of their house. Worked there for 3 years running small business operations.
call to the world
Foreign Service career introduced by family client. Was hired as Office Management Specialist & signed document promising to go anywhere worldwide.
Moved to Kingston, in love with my friend of 20 years. Career took off- romance fell apart.
Had a prayer with Jamaican Pastor & God told me to sing. Met producer & songwriter 2 weeks later. Did not want to leave! Received orders to leave Jamaica and move to... India.
Arrived in India the week of my 30th birthday. Worked for a boss & mission I didn't click with. Began questioning my path in Diplomacy and lack of impact.
Nashville or Bust
Moved to Nashville with 2 suitcases & stayed on my friend's couch. Got nowhere & found I had reverse culture shock, loss of career, identity and healing to do.
Returned home after receiving concerning phone call from family. Entered 2nd quarter-life crisis & a hunger to learn and deal with what happened. Spent the next year unemployed, reading & self-discovery.
Hired Ashley Stahl who freakishly reminded me of myself to guide me to some sort of success. I was desperate and spent the last of my dwindling credit card on it. Found I was more interested in entrepreneurship than a corporate job.
Upped the Ante
Met Janelle, a heart attack survivor and former lawyer with my same values. Followed my gut & a dream I had of her and signed up to work with her.
Got online and ready to serve. I believe my experiences serve a purpose by helping other women find their way.
